The Republic of Malta is a Southern European island country in the Mediterranean Sea. It lies 80 km (50 miles) south of Italy and it is one of the world's smallest nations. Malta is a popular tourist destination with its warm climate, numerous recreational areas, and architectural and historical monuments. Life on the tranquil rocky shores of this small island is narrated by this series of photographs entitled 'Mediterraneo'.
