In the Alentejo region of southern Portugal, the landscape is characterised by rolling plains and olive groves, where disused concrete grain silos stand as silent sentinels of the area’s agricultural history. These relics of the past, often weathered and crumbling, reflect the transition of rural economies and serve as a stark contrast against the vast, blue open skies. Their nostalgic presence tells stories of a once-thriving agricultural community while adding a unique aesthetic to the serene countryside.
